Ron Kluzik (78) passed away with end-stage dementia. He was born to Martin Kluzik and Verna Janikowski Kluzik in Winona, Minnesota. He joined three brothers (Richard, Lambert, and Stanley) and a sister (Teresa). He attended schools in Winona but liked fishing, hunting and trapping more. He was working for the Federal Bakery when he joined the US Navy in 1965. Ron served aboard the USS Oriskany (CVA-34), the USS Bauer (DE-1025) and the USS Proteus (AS-19). And he served at the commissary store on Treasure Island, California. After discharge in 1975, he attended the Winona Tech (WAVTI) and received certification to be a machinist. Then he relocated to Idaho. He worked for JR Simplot, Heyburn Plant, for 25 years as a machinist. Ron married Larraine McGill in 1969 and they have one daughter, Rhonda. He was an active member of St. Nicholas Church. He served as an usher and Eucharistic minister for many years.
Ron is survived by his wife and daughter, brother Lambert, and many nieces and nephews in Minnesota.
In the last couple of months, Ron broke his hip and then his femur from falls. During this time we met some really awesome people; they were kind and caring people. So many to name, we feel truly blessed.
