Linda Albertson

Dec. 28, 1941 - Jul. 2, 2026

Date of Service: Jul. 9, 2026

PAUL – Linda Albertson, age 84, of Paul, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Countryside Care and Rehabilitation in Rupert.

Linda was born in Rupert, Idaho to Howard and Fern (Barber) Manning on December 28, 1941. She was raised in Paul with her sister Patty, and her brother, Steve. She attended school at Paul and Minico High School. She could be found helping her dad with the farm, milking goats, tending to chores, and driving a harvest truck, as well as riding horses in her free time. When she was in high school, she was part of the Future Homemakers of America and was also a Home Ec. Student for all four years in high school. It is here that she met the love of her life Merrill Albertson. She graduated from Minico in 1960.

A year after graduation, on June 13,1961, she married Merrill. She continued working at the Tasty Freeze until 1968, then transitioned to helping Merrill on the farm operating the harvester during harvest season. Linda found the joy of motherhood soon after marriage and together they had their children, Melynda, James, Kristie, and Amie. After Merrill sold the farm, she moved to working on her sister’s farm, running windrowers, cultivating beets, as well as driving a harvest truck. After her sister’s farm had been sold, she continued driving a harvest truck for Doug and Alan Tuma.

Linda loved being outside where she could often be found planting and tending to her flowers, sitting on her rocking chair on the deck, and working to raise her garden. She enjoyed going to yard sales and going out for drives when she could. She loved her trips she would take to Seattle with her daughter Amie. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, counter cross stitching, and canning, and in recent years tying fleece blankets with Kristie. Holidays were also her favorite time, and she loved having her family out at her place for every major holiday to be together and have dinner with them. She loved decorating for Christmas and putting up her Christmas village was her favorite part. Linda also took great pride in raising her children and helping to raise her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her four children, Melynda (Joe) Kearl, James (Rebecca) Albertson, Kristie (John) Johnston, Amie (Al) Wilcox; her sister Patty (Manning) Cook; her ten grandchildren and her Seven great-grandchildren, one of which is due in December.
She was preceded in death by her husband Merrill Billy Albertson; her dad, Howard Everette Manning, her mom, Fern (Barber) Manning; and her brother, Howard Steven Manning.

The family would like to express gratitude to the Countryside Care and Rehabilitation team for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Linda while she was there with them.

A graveside service will be held at 11a.m. Thursday, July 9, at the Paul Cemetery, located at 550 West 100 North in Paul, Idaho.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. prior to the graveside service at Hansen Mortuary, located at 710 6th Street, in Rupert.
