Arthur T. Gallegos, 89, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at Parke View Care and Rehabilitation Center in Burley. He was born on March 16, 1929 in Fruita, Colorado to Joe and Mary Gallegos. Arthur joined the United States Army at a young age and served honorably, receiving the Army of Occupation Medal in Japan and the World War Two Victory medal. He was trained as a machine gunner and paratrooper. After leaving the Army, Arthur spent the rest of his working years as a farm laborer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Michael, Jeff and Steven Gallegos; a daughter, Pamela Stratton; a son-in-law, Rob Shelton; brothers John, Sam and Leo and his sisters Lucy and Viola. He is survived by his daughter Laura Shelton; a son Gary (Barbara) Gallegos; three brothers, Fred (Katherine) Gallegos, Dan Giron and Gilbert Giron and a sister, Lena Montoya.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Apostolic House of Prayer, 94 East Baseline in Rupert with Pastor John Crawford officiating. Urn burial will be in the Rupert Cemetery immediately following the memorial service. Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary in Rupert.
