LaVonne Alice Wilcox

Nov. 22, 1940 - May 16, 2026

RUPERT - LaVonne Alice Wilcox “Sis” age 85, of Rupert, Idaho, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 16, 2026, at St. Lukes Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls.

LaVonne was born and raised in the Mini-Cassia area and spent much of her life in and around Rupert. She was a proud graduate of Minico High School’s first graduating class when the then-new school opened in 1955.

She married Steve G. Wilcox, who preceded her in death in 1994. LaVonne worked for 40 years at J.R. Simplot in Heyburn, Idaho, where she built many lasting friendships and was known for her steady work ethic and dependability.

LaVonne enjoyed growing up in Rupert as part of the large Kaiser family, with 10 brothers and sisters, most of them known by a nickname that family and friends remembered well. Those family ties, stories, and memories were an important part of her life.

Above all, LaVonne was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved her family deeply and took great pride in her children and grandchildren.

LaVonne is survived by her son, Todd Posey (Denise) of Rupert, Idaho and Sun Lakes, Arizona; her granddaughter, Taraka Roberts Hubbard (Ralph) of Rupert, Idaho, her grandson, Daniel Seal of Twin Falls, Idaho; and four great-grandsons: Kyran, Kayden, Asher and Aiden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve G. Wilcox; and her daughter, Tauna Roberts.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the kind staff and friends at Countryside Care & Rehabilitation for the care, friendship, and compassion shown to LaVonne and our family.
Donations may be made in LaVonne’s name to Countryside Care & Rehabilitation in Rupert.

At LaVonne’s request no formal service will be held. Burial will take place at Paul Cemetery.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hansen Mortuary of Rupert.
