BURLEY – Shirley Rae McDowall, age 75, of Burley, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Parke View Care & Rehabilitation in Burley.

She was born on March 9, 1951, in Twin Falls, Idaho to Betty and Lloyd Brewer.

She is survived by her sister, Tami Short; and her brother, David (Michele) Brewer; and other family members.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Jim McDowall; and her son, Ronnie McDowall.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Pella Cemetery, located at 350 West 400 South, in Burley.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hansen Mortuary of Rupert.

I know shirley was loved by many students that she would drive home on her bus route. Sweet lady. I was able to be a substitute aide on her bus a few times and saw her kindness for those around her.
