RUPERT – Patricia Mae Whitlock, age 95, of Rupert and formerly of Burley, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Countryside Care and Rehabilitation in Rupert.
She was born January 21, 1931, in Los Angeles, California, to Fredrick McConnell and Thelma Pearl Davis. She spent most of her childhood in and around Los Angeles. She worked as a switchboard operator as the telephone became an important tool for everyone. She often commented on this job because of its importance at the time.
After marrying, she made the decision to be a stay-at-home mother to her children at a time when most women were returning to the workforce. She enjoyed crafting, and her love of working in the LDS Temple filled her with immense joy. She and her Husband Leo Whitlock served together in the Los Angeles California Temple and the Redlands California Temple until Leo’s passing in 2008. In fact, they met while working in the Los Angeles California Temple.
She was blessed with three biological and two stepchildren, but they were never “step” children to her. She was preceded in death by her husband; her brother; and two children. She is survived by her three children; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2026, at Hansen Mortuary located at 710 6th Street, in Rupert, where a viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial will follow at a later date at Green Acres Memorial Park, located at 11715 Cedar Ave., in Bloomington, California.
