Date of Service: Jul. 14, 2026
HEYBURN – Surrounded by loved ones at home, Dee Ray Bailey passed away on Monday, July 7, 2026, at the age of 83. He was born on April 9, 1943, to Ray and Irma Bailey.
Dee grew up on the family farm in Heyburn learning to work hard from a very young age. He was always so proud of all that he did alongside his Mom on the farm. He had a strong work ethic early in his life, and with that he eventually became partners with his brothers in the fuel business that their Dad had started.
When he was 22, he met Sylvia Hall, who became his eternal companion. Their earthly companionship lasted 60 years and 3 days, before Sylvia passed away. The following 346 days were truly heartbreaking for Dee. Never meant to be apart, they are now once again walking hand in hand. Together they were blessed with six children, Thom, Trever, Trenton, Tory, Tate and Trista and a growing family that has followed. This has been his pride and joy and sometimes patience tester!
Dee is survived by his children and their spouses, Thom (Tracy), Trever (Teresa), Trenton (Hollie), Tory (Amber), Tate (Jenn), and Trista (Clint); along with his 29 grandchildren, their companions; and 28 great-grandchildren with one on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Jeanne and brothers, Nolan and Neldon; along with numerous other family members.
Dee was preceded in death by his dear Sylvia; his parents; a grandson, Aaron; sisters, Marilyn and Joan, and his brother, Lamar.
We would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Jeff Swenson for always caring, Addison with Visions Hospice, and Christy Gomez, who was a wonderful caretaker this past year when we needed the help.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Heyburn 2nd Ward, located at 530 Villa Drive in Heyburn, where a viewing for family and friends will be held from 10 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hansen Mortuary of Rupert.
