Roberta Karol Coffman

Jun. 12, 1935 - May 8, 2026

Date of Service: May 21, 2026

Roberta Karol Coffman RUPERT – Roberta Karol Coffman, age 90, of Rupert, passed away Friday, May 8, 2026, at her daughters home in Twin Falls, under the care of Hospice Visions and her family.

Roberta was born June 12, 1935, to Robert Bennett Rytting and Clara Evelyn Larson Rytting. She had two older sisters and two younger brothers. Only one of her brothers, Dean Bennett Rytting survives her.

She married Arthur William Coffman Jr., after a three year courtship and some “gentle” nudging, on May 26, 1956. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 27, 1963. They remained happily married for 65 years.

They had five children, Vicki Rae (David Almond), Charlene Justice, Lynda Lee (Gary Hoffman), Arthur Bennett (D’Ann Coffman) and Wendy Gay (Patrick Florence), who provided them with 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Family was very important to Roberta, she loved doing any activity that included them such as dancing, water skiing, camping, fishing, bowling, and playing/coaching baseball. In her later years she also enjoyed knitting and word search puzzles.

She was often described as being very kind and thoughtful. She did a lot to help out neighbors, friends and family. Roberta made an effort to send birthday cards or wishes to everyone she cared about.

Roberta worked the switchboard for the telephone company, worked as a dispatch operator, and worked in the laundry for the Minidoka Memorial Hospital in Rupert for several years.

Next to her family, her greatest joy came from yard work. Her house was surrounded by flower beds filled with a variety of flowers. She also had a good sized garden with raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, grapes, peaches, and apples. It was a lot of work but she loved being outside and her yard was always beautiful!

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and gave her all in each calling she was given.

The funeral will be held at 11a.m. Thursday, May 21, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Rupert 7th Ward, located at 324 East 18th Street, in Rupert, with Bishop Boyd Bingham officiating. Burial will follow at Rupert Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received from 5 until 7p.m. Wednesday, May 20, at Hansen Mortuary, located at 710 6th Street in Rupert, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Thursday prior to the service at the church.

She will be forever loved and deeply missed by all those blessed enough to know her.
