Marilyn Mitchell Raybal, 68 of Heyburn, passed away Friday, February 9, 2024 at the Huntsman Cancer Institute surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 26, 1955 to Lawrence and Ilene Mitchell in Tooele, Utah. She moved to Rupert, Idaho in 1970 and graduated from Minico High School in 1974. After high school she met the love of her life Dave Raybal, they were married on February 22, 1975 and settled in Heyburn, Idaho where they resided for almost five decades.
Marilyn was an outstanding woman. She was kindhearted, caring and would give her last to make sure everyone around her was taken care of. She was a beautiful wife married to David for 48 devoted years. The loving legacy she left behind will be treasured forever, especially in the hearts of her daughters and granddaughters. also in the hearts of her brothers and sisters. We say sisters because Marilyn had sister- in-laws who considered her a dear sister as well. Marilyn was cherished by her cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces, many of them having a story to tell about her.
Marilyn worked for the JR Simplot Company for 30 years and eventually retired from Minidoka County School District 10 years later. If anyone knew Marilyn they knew she had quite a sense of humor and always had a joke, prank, or good scare in store for the next victim around the corner. Marilyn enjoyed gardening and fixing up anything that needed repair. That woman was definitely a jack of all trades and always had some project underway. Marilyn was taken unexpectedly and too suddenly from us. The family would like to thank Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho and Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah for taking care of Marilyn in her last days.
Marilyn is survived by her husband David Raybal, daughters Julie Raybal, and Lisa (Stephen) Belt. Four granddaughters Lourdes Raybal, Autumn (Parker) Jones, Cora Belt, and Alyiah Raybal. Brothers Virgil Mitchell and Dee (Mary) Mitchell, and sister Laura (Allen) Helsley. She is preceded in death by her Father Lawrence Mitchell, Mother Ilene Prescott Mitchell, brothers Wayne (Deborah) Mitchell, Earl Mitchell, sisters Jolene Mitchell, Ellare Mitchell and Denise Mitchell.
