Wayne Haynes of Rupert, Idaho, passed away peacefully at his home on February 1, 2018. At 92 years old, Wayne lived a full and happy life. He was born in Paul, Idaho, to Earl and Edith Haynes on September 30, 1925. He was the 6th of 11 children. Growing up he worked on the family farm before serving in the U. S. Army as a staff sergeant for the Military Police. He married the love of his life, Hilda Davis, on September 24, 1951. Wayne spent his life around farming. He was a mechanic, and was able to operate any piece of machinery on the farm. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with most of his callings in the scouting program. Wayne loved being a grandpa, and was often found holding a baby whenever they were around. He had a special touch and could calm an upset baby or put one to sleep when no one else could.

He and Hilda had 4 children, Robert (Sara) Haynes of Burley, Idaho, Teresa (Bill) Baldauf of Mesa, Arizona, Dennis (Stephanie) Haynes of Burley, Idaho, and Steven (Terra) Haynes of Rupert, Idaho. He had 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 8 siblings and one grandson. He is survived by 2 siblings, Lynn Haynes of Paul, Idaho and Ardell Clark of Kuna, Idaho, his children, 7 grandsons, 5 granddaughters, 14 great grandsons and 7 great granddaughters.

Funeral services, under the direction of Hansen Mortuary, will be held Friday, February 9, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Rupert First Ward building, 806 G Street Rupert, Idaho. A viewing will take place at Hansen Mortuary, 710 6th Street Rupert, Idaho, on Thursday, February 8, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Paul Cemetery immediately following the services under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
