Stetson Wyatt Rodgers

Dec. 5, 2002 - Jan. 27, 2018

Date of Service: Feb. 2, 2018

Saturday, January 27, 2018 while peacefully sleeping our sweet amazing, extremely loving boy Stetson Wyatt Rodgers, was set free to fly high with the angels. We all fought vigilantly together for 5 years to battle the seizure monster that finally was more than his little body could take that night.

Stetson was the first born to Blake and Sarah Rodgers on December 5, 2002 in Rupert, Idaho. He was the light of his mommas eye, a momma’s boy through and through, yet connected to his daddy’s hip soaking up every moment he could. He was his true Best Friend. He was the loving big brother to Brooklyn with who he had a bond none of us will ever fully understand and to Jett who was his pride and joy, partner in crime.

Stetson was a friend to all and knew no enemy’s. Never did you see him without a smile on his face and a pocket full of the essentials he thought he needed. He was currently an 8th grader at West Minico Jr. High School where his crush Nicole Manning was his teacher. There he found his place. Not a day went by that he didn’t have stories to tell about Dr. Tim Perrigot and their time together. He was included as a part of the football team and also was on the bowling team. 4-H was a very big part of Stetsons life. Over the past 4 years he has done numerous projects such as: chickens, legos, goat, archery, steer and teen association, and state to state exchange. He loved being a part of the teen association, where he traveled to Minnesota last year for a week. He loved attending Grace Community Church. He also had a love for golf and enjoyed playing on the Tri-Cities Golf League.
All that knew Stetson knew that his heart was always all about trucks and mechanics. He never went without asking anyone he met what kind of oil they use in their cars and he was sure to tell you that Pennzoil would create sludge in the engine. He was a stand by mechanic for anyone working on anything.

In all of his short 15 years there was one person who believed in Stetson the most. He would allow him to us his tools that no one else is allowed to touch, and he showed trust in Stetson to even let him us the power drill, he spent time ice fishing even if there was only ¼” of ice, the jet boat always was a sure thing for the Biggest Fish in the river, he always supplied him with a barn towel for his pocket and a pack of stick cigarettes to have a smoke, he even spent hours out of his day to look at trucks at the truck stop. That Best Friends Forever is his Papa.

Stetson is survived by his parents Blake and Sarah Rodgers, Siblings Brooklyn and Jett Rodgers, Grandparents Dan and Molly Kloer, Pat and Christine Rodgers and Tamara Estes. Great Grandparents Jim and Barbara Rodgers, Bill and Dixie Estes and Terrill and Maurine Anderson. Aunts and Uncles Mark and Kelsey Phillips, Joe and Jen Mayer, Tara Rodgers, Dustin and Bailey Rodgers, Gary and Amanda Knobbe and Mark and Jana Knobbe. Cousins Tayller, Tegan, Trevor, Jorden, Daxton, Katy, Dalyce, Hagen, Jesse, Dixie, Kendrix, Tayten, Gary and Keaton. He is preceded in death by his Uncle Wyatt Rodgers and Aunt Nicole Knobbe.

A Celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at Grace Community Church. 100 Meridian Road, Rupert, Idaho. Viewing for family and friends will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Hansen Mortuary. Services will conclude with burial in the Paul Cemetery under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Stetsons name to the Minidoka County 4-H. 85 East Baseline Rupert, Idaho 83350.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Roger Davis and the City of Rupert QRU, Minidoka Memorial ambulance crew, Rupert City Police, Hansen Mortuary, Pastor Travis Turner and Grace Church, and all of our friends and family for their wonderful out pouring of support and love.
