Manuela Flores

Sep. 17, 1923 - Jul. 14, 2017

Date of Service: Jul. 20, 2017

Our beloved mother Manuela Flores went to heaven on July 14, 2017 surrounded by all of her family. Manuela was born on September 17, 1923 in Chihuahua, Mexico. Her parents moved their young family to Texas, where Manuela met and married Pablo Flores in Eagle Pass, Texas. Together they had seven children, Manuelita, Armando, Gilberto, Estela, Rosa, Lucia and Luis.

Manuela and Pablo and their children moved to Idaho in the 1960’s. They settled in Rupert to educate their children and continue their migrant work. Manuela worked for Ore-Ida Food Co. for 30 years until she retired. Manuela was a tireless and hard worker. While working full time and raising her children she was a key devoted parishner of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and became a member of the Guadalupanas in 1972. She enjoyed helping many people of the community. After she retired, Manuela dedicated many hours volunteering, visiting and helping the sick. She often drove people to their Dr.’s appointments and delivered gifts and meals. She made many close friends, young and old. Manuela’s greatest joy was having her many grandchildren visit her. We will all miss our beautiful beloved mother and “abueleta”.

Manuela is preceded in death by her parents and her 7 siblings, husband, 2 sons and 1 daughter. She is survived by her 3 daughters, 1 son, 24 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and 35 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 20, 2017 at St Nicholas Catholic Church. Viewing with Rosary will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the church Services will conclude with burial in the Rupert Cemetery under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
